"The Vampire Diaries" spin-off focuses on the original vampire family that includes siblings Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gilles)and Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt), who return to New Orleans to reclaim the city they helped build. Before they were forced to flee from their relentless hunter father in 1919, their family had built and ran the entire town. Now, Klaus' former protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), runs the French Quarter by using absolute power to control its human and supernatural inhabitants. But the siblings are determined to take back all that used to belong to them, regardless of the cost. They are aided in their quest by powerful witch Sophie Deveraux (Daniella Pineda) and by Klaus' former flame Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), a werewolf who is carrying Klaus' unborn child, the heir who could be the key to regaining the power their family once held.
